Exploration Guide in EVE Online (2012-05-09)
Exploration, also known as a profession introduced with the Kali patch,is the art of scanning a solar system for deadspace signatures which do not normally appear on a ship's scanners or overview in EVE Online.
Exploration,in the form of various hidden encounters, usually takes place in deadspace zones, which are designed to reward players for the additional work required to reveal them.Exploration probes use exactly the same mechanics as ship scanning probes, same skills, and same equations.Once a complex has been explored, the specific signature no longer shows up in future scan results in that system.Players need to use a scan probe launcher rather than a recon probe launcher, because the probes are too big.
Scanning is vital to exploration and you must use probes to scan down cosmic signatures.Meanwhile, player should consult the probing article for step-by-step instructions on scanning.Exploration sites can be broken down into the following types: Cosmic anomaly,Radar sites,Magnetometric,Ladar,Gravimetric,Unknown sites,DED complex, and Unrated complex. All ships can fit a scan probe launcher, however certain ships give extra bonus to astrometrics based modules and decrease your scan time.
Depending on the site scanned down, there are several skills required, including Hacking,Salvaging, and Archaeology.Rewards will vary based on the type of site located.
Mining guide in EVE online (2012-04-27)
Mining, the process of extracting raw materials from objects found in space,is one of the simplest ways of getting ISK in EVE online. In order to find a successful mining way, players need to learn proper knowledge and basic techniques.
The basic equipment important to mining are mining lasers, cargo expanders, and survey scanners.Mining lasers, used to extract ore from asteroids, are fitted in high slots.Different lasers extract ore at different speeds, and sometimes you will need special lasers to extract certain ores. You need to target an asteroid in the range of 10km,and then active your lasers.Cargo expanders are used to create more space in your ship's cargo hold so that you don't have to travel back and forth between your base and your asteroids.Survey scanners are useful for farming asteroids, which can show you how much ore remains in an asteroid.
Mining usually refers to the extraction of ore from asteroids in asteroid belts. It can also refer to extracting ice from ice fields, gas from gas clouds. The mining ship is the essential equipment designed for mining operations, used to fly to an asteroid belt. You can choose your ship according to your race in game. There are also two specialized mining ships, including dedicated Mining Barges and their Tech II equivalent,Exhumers. These vessels are able to mount strip mining modules, which have longer cycle times then mining lasers, but also extract ore at a much faster rate.
Besides that, you need to improve your mining skills and train them to higher levels in order to speed up your mining. There are four useful mining skills, including Mining,Astrogeology,Ice Harvesting and Gas Cloud Harvesting. For a Retriever you need the following skills:Mining Barge III,Astrogeology III,Science IV,Mining IV,Industry V,Astrogeology IV,Science IV,and Mining IV.For a Hulk you need the following skills:Exhumers III,Spaceship Command IV,Industry V,Astrogeology V,Science IV,Mining IV,Mining Barge V,Astrogeology III,Science IV,Mining IV,and Industry V.
Invention in EVE online (2012-04-19)
Invention is the process based on taking a blueprint copy for a lower tech item, adding certain specialized equipment, and attempting to create a blueprint copy for a higher tech item in EVE online.
Invention has opened wider access to the Tech Level II industry, specifically by gathering data, tools, materials, and technology through Exploration and Research Agent means.Five basic items are needed for invention, including a single blueprint copy of the Tech I item, two types of specific datacores, one data interface of a particular type, the required skills to invent, and an available invention slot.Besides, there are two optional additions:an actual named Tech I item of the type being researched and a decryptor of a particular type.
There are six basic skills needed for invention, including Electronics II,Engineering II,Electronics Upgrades level III,Science level V,Hacking level II and Racial encryption methods level I.Additional skills, required based on the item you invent, need a combination of two skills in the following:Electronics level V,Engineering level V,Science level V and Mechanic level V.Each item has two advanced science skills associated with it.Four racial encryption methods skills are needed for invention, including Amarr Encryption Methods,Caldari Encryption Methods,Gallente Encryption Methods and Minmatar Encryption Methods.A potential inventor need both the encryption method and the two science skills trained in order to start an invention job.Higher skills levels lead to a better chance of invention.
Wormhole in EVE online (2012-04-11)
Wormholes are space anomalies which connect two separate space locations in EVE online.Players can use them to travel from one system to another.
Wormholes are usually in different sizes for only a short time,it means that you need to find the right wormhole fit for your ship. Wormholes have a maximum ship mass limit in which ships can transit through them.Besides, wormholes can also connect to uncharted space or wormhole space.Wormholes will collapse after a certain amount of ships have passed through or after a random amount of time.
Wormholes can be found through the exploration system by probing for cosmic signatures with scan probes. The astrometric frigates have a bonus to the strength of probes, which makes it easier to find signatures.Once you have got some probes, set the filter to pick up signatures, and start scanning around the system.Probes are essential for wormhole exploration, and it is worth having one fitted to most of the ships in your exploration fleet.
Once you enter a wormhole located in known space, there are two possibilities for where your ship might be taken.First,it is possible that the wormhole will lead you to another area in known space. On the other hand, the wormhole might lead you to an area of undiscovered and uncharted wormhole space. If you have been taken to known space, you just need to jump through it and you will land somewhere on the map.If you have been taken to unknown space or wormhole space, you need to find ways out,or you can return back to where you come from using the same wormhole.Besides, you should bring enough probes to be able to scan your way out.
Jita in EVE online (2012-03-27)
Jita is a super hub system for Caldari space in the Forge region in EVE online, which is often the cause of lag in the game due to the high volume of traffic passing through and facilities using.
Jita is the largest and most popular trading hub in Empire space, with 350 pod pilot population near downtime and around 1000 almost any other time,up to around 1500 at weekend peak times.Jita is a destination on the travel highways as well before you are eliminated. The daily trade volume in Jita exceeds several hundred billion isk, which makes Jita bigger than the other four major trade hubs combined.Meanwhile, the daily income from all trade in Jita due to taxes and broke fees comes to several billions, making Jita one of the richest hubs in the whole system.
Jita also provides various services for pilots in each space station, including Medical,Repairshop,Reprocessing Plant,Market,Fitting,Science & Industry,Bounty Office, and Insurance.Jita IV-Moon 4-Caldari Navy Assembly Plant, also know as Jita 4-4 for short, the most famous trading hub in the universe, which has an average of thirty to fifty ships outside of its docking port at a time. The station, where most of the trading is done,is made of steel from Caldari Steel. It consists of an intentionally gray color scheme, terminal one,and one of the docking areas with concrete walls.
