Celebrate Bullroarer Took Day (2009-03-18)
Wear green this week to celebrate the great Bullroarer Took, the fearless hobbit that charged against the ranks of goblins and took the head off of their leader, Golfimbul, with a wooden club. This Tuesday and for the rest of the week we celebrate this mighty hobbit with dancing, drinking and wearing green.
Watch out for Faya and other members of the community team during the week. They plan on joining in the fun, making sure as many people as possible are wearing green and keeping the dancing energetic and the drinks topped up!

Patch notes for Volume 2 Book 7 are up; Turbine announce test server. (2009-03-03)
Turbine released patch notes for Volume 2 Book 7 today (or yesterday, I suppose -- you normal folks aren't up this late, are you?). There's a lot of good stuff in store for us. You all knew about Lothlórien, of course, but did you know that Turbine are redesigning the starter areas? Did you know that quests would now show up on your map? There are a bunch of class updates on their way, too -- Wardens, you're getting some loving.
Turbine also announced a brand-spanking-new test server yesterday! Its name is Bullroarer, and Turbine will be using it to beta test out features and content before they are implemented on live servers.
Do you like trying out new things and seeing new places? When something is broken, are you excited by the thought of fixing it? Are you always the first person to try out a new technology? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Bullroarer might be the server for you!
Bullroarer is a public test server which will be opened periodically to test new content, still in development, before it is completed and approved for the live servers. In order to ensure accurate data and a large spread of character levels, at the beginning of the test cycle we will wipe the server of existing characters and copy all characters from a live server onto it. The first server to be copied onto Bullroarer will be Elendilmir. If your characters aren't on Elendilmir, don't despair! Once we feel we've gathered enough "clean" data we will enable the Eyes and Guard Tavern, in which you can auto-level up characters and try out the high-level content before the live servers are updated - and your server will have its chance some day, too!
